Customizable products (Assistive technology)
NNCF - Noi Non Ci Fermiamo ("We don't stop" in Italian) is a research project related to assistive products co-design considering the impact of rheumatic diseases on specific daily needs. The repository includes different open-source online parametric configurators developed for the customization of eight assistive technology products to be downloaded and fabricated through low-cost 3D printing: “Le Micheline”, customizable cutlery handles for forks, knives, and spoons; “L’Hook”, a foldable safety belt hanger; “Daisy”, a bottle opener; “Pinzamisù”, a multipurpose plier; “Pinzamigiù”, a multimaterial multipurpose plier; “Manola”, a catching tool handle; “Angie’s brush”, a hair-brush washer handle; “sCarpe Diem”, a shoehorn handle; and “Up_Peel”, a kitchen peeling tool without customization. The project provides open Grasshopper (.gh) definitions that enable users to customize parts and products and export STL or STEP files for local fabrication with desktop-size 3D printers, supporting accessible and personalized assistive technology solutions. 1
